Because only a few GoMODP partners are participating in the full Exchange Network project, we are taking a three-tiered approach to increase the level of participation in the GoMODP Data Exchange. In this approach, Partners can:
- Share only metadata record from Global Change Master Directory (GCMD). This means that the basic catalog information (such as Data Center information, geospatial location, personnel and GETDATA links, etc) will appear in the data discovery component of the application.
- We are using a subset of GCMD fields to build the catalog component of the GCMD exchange.
- Share metadata and upload monitoring locations. In addition to sharing the GCMD metadata record, partners will use a web-based node client or web service to upload XML file of monitoring locations.
- View a prototype of monitoring locations using USGS data from a WQX compliant web service
- Full data sharing using Exchange Network Protocols (metadata, monitoring locations, data access). Data will be searchable, accessible and available for download directly through portal.
Participate at the metadata level:
- If you are interested in participating at the metadata only level, make sure you have a record on GCMD for your data.
- Use the GoMODP GCMD Metadata Checking Tool to view your existing record at the GCMD.
- If you do not have a record at the GCMD, visit the GoMODP Portal Page on the GCMD website for information on how to add a record to this project.
Participate at the monitoring location level:
