New name for the Partnership!
The Gulf of Maine Ocean Data Partnership has been renamed to The Northeast Coastal and Ocean Data Partnership
Letter from Chair of the NeCODP, Paul Currier:
Dear Partners of the Gulf of Maine Ocean Data Partnership,
On August 11, the Partnership's Executive Committee voted to change the name of the Gulf of Maine Ocean Data Partnership to the Northeast Coastal and Ocean Data Partnership. We appreciated and considered all the input that you provided. The Executive Committee agreed that changing our name Northeast Coastal and Ocean Data Partnership (NECODP) would help us clearly align the partnership with the Northeastern Regional Association of Coastal and Ocean Observing Systems (NERACOOS) and with the Northeast Regional Ocean Council (NROC). This alignment should help us identify synergistic activities and funding to better support the Partnership.
We have also had some recent discussion with NERACOOS and are planning to more formally integrate the NERACOOS Data Integration Framework (DIF) team with the Partnership. There is significant overlap with the DIF team and the Partnership and there are certainly efficiencies to be gained by close coordination of these complimentary efforts.
We look forward to continue to work with all of you to advance data interoperability in the region and beyond.
Best,
Paul
