Gulf of Maine Model Interoperability Pilot Project
A pilot project to show how existing NetCDF model output generated by partner institutions can be brought into CF-Compliance via NcML and made accessible to the scientist's desktop via standards-based tools.

THREDDS Catalog: The listing of distributed Gulf of Maine model data sets used in the Pilot Project. You can view the catalog in your web browser, or cut-and-paste the URL http://coast-enviro.er.usgs.gov/thredds/gom_interop_catalog.xml into tools that understand THREDDS catalogs, like IDV. A bathymetry catalog containing both Gulf of Maine and worldwide topo/bathy models is also available.
- ncWMS Client: Some of the datasets can be viewed interactively using your browser, creating images from the THREDDS catalog entries using extended WMS commands.
-
IDV Demo: This demo shows how the Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) from Unidata can be used to interactively browse and visualize the model output served in the Model Interoperability Pilot Project.
-
Matlab Demo: This demo shows how Matlab can be used to access and visualize a data from the Model Interoperability Pilot Project. Sample scripts demonstrate extracting 2D and 3D temperature fields, and comparing modeled temperature profiles to data.
